He was born on January 1st, 1951. He graduated the Sverdlovsk Mining Institute with a specialization in “Geology and Exploration of Raw Materials”.
Between 1973 to 1989 - the Sverdlovsk Mining Institute. Between 1989 to 1993 – the Moscow Geology-Prospecting Institute named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze. Between 1993 to 2000 - professor of the chair “Economics of Nature Use” in the Ural State Economic University (USEU). Between 1998 to 2005 – Director General of the Research Institute “Uralpishchepromsertifikat”. Between 2000 to 2005 - Department Chairman of the Ural State Economic University. Currently - President of the USEU. Doctor of economic sciences, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences, professor, member of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. He has five patents for inventions, including the Eurasian patent for the method of grinding grain.
