Day City Tour
DAY 1 Astana-Shymkent
Flight from Astana to Shymkent on SCAT airline.
Transfer to Turkestan by car (165 kilometers, 2 hours and 15 minutes.)

Turkestan
Turkestan is one of the ancient cities on the Great Silk Road. It has major religious significance, with Muslims referring to it as the Second Mecca. Turkestan was both a spiritual and political center of Turkic peoples and was the ancient capital of Kazakh khans. Typically, up to 250 religious pilgrims a day visit this architectural-archeological complex. During religious festivals the number jumps to 1,000 a day.

Sightseeing in Turkestan:

· The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi;
· The Mausoleum of Arystan-Bab;
· The Mausoleum of Aisha-Bibi, Babaji-Khatun, Karakhan and the ancient city of Otrar.

DAY 2 Turkestan -Tashkent

Transfer to Tashkent by car. Accommodation.

Sightseeing in Tashkent:

· Visit to the old city:
· Khasti-Imam complex;
· Mui Muborak library, with Original Qoran dating to the 7th Century;
· Barakhan Medrese (religious school) and new Mosque built in 2007.

DAY 3
Tashkent-Bukhara

Ancient and fabulous Bukhara is a city of magical lamps and eastern beauty. Great Silk Road caravans never missed this 2,500-year-old city, the only oasis for miles.
Arrival at Bukhara. Accommodation.

Sightseeing in Bukhara:

· Visit to the Arc fortress; 
· Architectural complex of Kalyan, which flourished from the 12th to 16th centuries;
· Mir-i Arab Medrese, built in the 17th Century;
· Magoki-Attari Mosque, Medrese of Ulughbek and Abdul Aziz Khan, dating from the 15th to 17th centuries;· Lyabi-Hauz Ensemble and Chor Minor Medrese, dating to the 9th Century;· Samanid Mausoleum, dating to the 9th and 10th centuries.

DAY 4: Bukhara-Samarkand (280 kilometers, 3 hours) Early-morning transfer to Samarkand. Full day of excursions.

Sightseeing in Samarkand:

· Bibi Khanum Mosque, the biggest in Central Asia, Timur, the region’s greatest conqueror, built it in honor of his beloved wife;
· Siyab Bazaar, a place to learn about the lifestyle of the local population;
· Shahi-Zinda necropolis, where the Prophet Muhammad’s cousin and Timur and his heirs are buried;
· Ulughbek observatory, built in the 15th Century to study astronomy.

DAY 5: Samarkand-Tashkent (300 kilometers, 3 hours) Early-morning transfer to Tashkent.
Departure from Tashkent.

*Guides accompanying you during the trip are fluent in English;

**You can depart on the 5th day; if your flight on the next day then you can spend extra night in Tashkent or fly to Almaty for making the return trip.
