MD, PhD, Professor of Medicine, Chairman of the Board, National Medical Holding.Almaz Sharman has experience in the fields of biomedical research, clinical research, and in public health. After graduation he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Immunobiology Vaccine Center of the University of Alabama at Birmingham until 1994.
From 1997 until 2004, Dr. Sharman was involved in university teaching as an associate in the Department of International Health at The Johns Hopkins University.
In 2001 Almaz Sharman joined US Agency for International Development (USAID) Regional Mission for Central Asia as the Infectious Disease Advisor and later as USAID Country Office Coordinator for Kazakhstan.
In May 2008 Dr. Sharman was appointed CEO of the National Medical Holding.
