Dear participant,
The annual Astana Economic Forum brings together more than 5,000 people from 80 countries, including Nobel Prize winners, current and former heads of state, top economists and academics, business leaders and journalists.
Forum organizers want everyone attending the event to take advantage of it rich array of opportunities. They range from soaking up valuable business ideas to making important contacts to holding key business meetings with other Forum participants to actually making business arrangements.
Last year, for the first time, we offered to arrange business meetings between Forum participants and others at the Forum whom they wanted to obtain information from or partner with.
The service was a smash hit, with more than 100 requests for our business-meeting help.
This year we’re making the service even better.
Here are some of the things we’re offering:
1. A help desk where business-meeting coordinators are available.
2. Computer stations that Forum participants can use to arrange meetings on their own, or obtain our help.
3. Business Zones where those who do not need our meeting-arrangement services can hold meetings.
4. Special Business Zones where those who decide to use our meeting-arrangement services can hold their meetings.
To improve your chance of being able to meet with a person you want during the Forum, start early. This is especially true if you want a meeting with a high-ranking business or government official.
You must register with the Astana Economic Forum and obtain accreditation as a participant before we can help you line up a meeting.
A good rule of thumb is that if you’re seeking a meeting with a top official, you need to make the request at least a month before the Forum begins.
Another reason for seeking a meeting early is to ensure you’ll have a meeting room at the Forum on the day and time you prefer.
