May 10, 2012. A press conference was held in the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists in advance of the V Astana Economic Forum on May 22-24 (hereinafter - the AEF, the Forum). The main Forum location is the Independence Palace, whereas its main subject is "Global Economic Transformation: Challenges and Development Prospects".

G-Global Offers Platform for Answers to International Economic Woes
A new communication platform, created at the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev in January, has brought together more than 500,000 people in 128 countries in their search to find ways out of the global economic crisis.

The platform, called G-Global, has been set up on the website http://g-global.aef.kz and it is visited by more than 3,000 people a day. The site holds the second position in the list of economic and analytical sites and is more sought after in the web search engines than other economic web forums.

Business trip to Europe
Representatives of the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists headed by the Chairman Murat Karimsakov, went to the business trip to Europe. During the trip they attended ONR Global EU workshop on Innovation and Knowledge Driven R&D in the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. Series of business meeting been held from January 24 through 31 January 2012 at the corporate office in Brussels and in other countries, namely Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom and France.

Robert Mundell: The G-20 and G-8 lack the mechanisms for tackling sensitive problems and producing effective proposals for dealing with the crisis
“I fully support the initiative of H.E. President Nursultan Nazarbayev in proposing a new initiative to cope with the world crisis. The G-20 and the G-8 have been very weak in analysis and proposals for solution. They lack the mechanisms for tackling sensitive problems and producing effective proposals for dealing with the crisis. At the same time 90 per cent of the countries in the world have no voice in these forums. The result is a lapse from multilateral solutions and  a resort to unilateral approaches or bilateral disagreements on issues like protectionism, exchange rate policies and global imbalances. It seems to me that the approach suggest by the President would be warmly welcomed by most countries in the world.

On 15 December, on the eve of the 20th anniversary of Independence of the RK, Chairman of the executive body of the Association "Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists" was awarded with Jubilee Medal "Qazaqstan Respublikasynyn Tauelsіzdіgіne 20 zhyl." Eurasian economic club is the main organizer of Astana Economic Forum. Astana Economic Forum is an annual interactive platform for discussions of global problems which has no precedents in its scope and level around the Eurasian region.

The Silk Road Summit, organized by The Economist Conferences, was held on November 30-December 1, 2011 in Almaty. The summit will explore the real economic potential of the economies of Central Asia and the South Caucasus, analysing the challenges of doing business in the region in frank dialogue between Government and investors, the press service of the British-Kazakh Society said.

Contests for the best road map for transition to a new world currency
The contest is aimed in building and selection of an optimal road map for transition to a single world currency taking into account views of G-global communication platform participants. The best road maps of the forum will be processed for the selection and the formation of the final version of the roadmap for transition to a new world currency, together with the experts of the “Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists” Association.
